It is indeed ruptured all the way through – the arrow on the photo on the left points to a squiggle in the tendon that shouldn’t be there indicating a breach, and the arrow on the right points to the rupture with the surrounding fluid.

To quote the surgeon we visited “I can’t believe you are able to walk on that!”. His surgery is scheduled for Thursday next week, and then he’ll be on crutches for about six weeks after that, and will then go back into the aircast for a couple of months, depending on how long it takes to heal.

The timing isn’t perfect, what with us moving house in about 10 days time, but at least I’ll have him around the place for the next few days to help with the packing, even if he has to do it whilst sitting down!
