Here I am :D

Among the fields of barley

About Me
Welcome to the world of PeachyHollow which chronicles the life of me, Nin. I am recently married, recently thirty, and have recently filed papers to emigrate from England to Northern California to be with my husband, a native Michigander. I love to people watch and take pictures, sew and knit, and I occasionally bake pretty cakes too. I often appear to chronically procrastinate due to my unhealthy quest for perfection yet somehow managed to get a PhD in climate research.

I *puffy heart* Blythe dolls and have adopted many into my plastic family. My girls have their own special page, so you can read all about them over there. This isn’t a very flattering photo, but it’s an accurate portrayal of my Blythe excitment.

I *heart* Blythe!

OK, here’s a slightly better one, taken May 2008 with all my 12 girls (Rachael is there, but she’s hiding).

DrMrNin and I have been together since the summer of 2002. I was still living in England when we met, and so we spent the next four years flying back and forth across the Atlantic to see each other. It didn’t really seem that big a deal at the time. Looking back, I’m amazed how we managed to keep things going that far apart for so long, but it all worked out in the end :D

DrMrNin asked me to marry him in September 2006, and we then spent 11 months planning the wedding which took place in England, in a little town near to where I grew up. You can read all about the engagement here and the wedding here. Both were lovely in my humble, biased opinion. Here is one of my favourite non-pro pictures from our wedding.

Our wedding, August 4th 2007

If you’re interested you can see our self-taken ‘Save the Date’ pictures here, our official engagement portraits here, and our wedding photos here.

After the honeymoon we had to part ways as MrNin had to return to the US, leaving me behind in England to wait for my greencard. That’s what the ticker on the home page is all about. In the meantime I’ve just started working to fill time and to get some pocketmoney. I prefer my old research job though, and am looking forward to having that back again. Ooh, before I forget, there are also some honeymoon pictures that you can look at too.

So right now I’m making the most of being able to spend time with my family. There are five of us at The Family Home right now: My mum- Mutti, Young Father, my middle sister Malph and our cat, Barnaby. Malph has her own blog too- it’s crafty, lots of people like it. A lot of people find me from her site too (*waves hello to anyone who found me that way*). I also have another sister too, Jeeyet, but she lives away from home with her Japanese fiancé, so I usually only get to see her once a week on a Sunday morning when they come round for a cup of tea. And a biscuit (this is England, don’t forget).

Here’s me with my middle sister, Malph having a Frippery Tea in the bluebells (I like drinking tea).

And here’s us playing around in filly dresses in the woods (I like wearing frilly dresses too).

And here’s Barnaby.

Smiling as hard as he can

WineChris aka C2, FilmChris and VanderKitten also make occasional appearances on this site too. They’re my friends from California. They’re all from Michigan too. Actually, most of the people I know in California are from Michigan. I think the good weather is a draw.

Thanks for dropping by!
