With all the action of the recent week- delays in Paris, the departure of DrMr, endless packing, and increasing anxiety of the forthcoming move- my skills in procrastination have really shown themselves and have done me proud. With all the stuff to do around the house I’ve done what I’ve always done best and diverted my attention to other things far less worthy of my attention. Actually I lie, I did get a *lot* done this week, but what I have not been achieving this past week has been sleep. Whether it’s been a mechanism to delay the sunset of another final day with my family or if it’s because I have so much going on in my head right now that I’m just too wired to close my eyes remains unclear, but what I do know is that those extra few hours of awakeness have given me time on my hands to immerse myself in a bout of distractional productivity. Thus you may have noticed that here at Peachy Hollow we’ve had a little makeover.

It’s rather a departure from the old look and I’m not sure how long it’ll stay, but a change of theme kind of seems fitting this week
Born to wear pretty dresses and Barbour jackets and skip through muddy English fields in a pair of Hunter wellies, Nin is now a 30-something British Ex-Pat living in the urban wilds of Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area. She likes cake and chocolate and is on a quest to find the perfect Stateside cream tea.

I love the new look! (That’s quite a positive declaration since I avoid change like the plague) It’s really fresh and I think very appropriate given the changes your life is undergoing. Good work!
Oooer, I’m a BUG???!!
Tell me about avoiding change, I LOATHE IT! It’s probably why I’m giving myself such a hard time this week. But I thought it seemed nice and fresh. It must be all the cobweb clearing I’ve been doing this past week
And oops yes, for now you’re a bug I’m afraid. It’s better than being a strange floortile which was the other option, but I’m on the lookout for something else. So yes, in the meantime you’re a bug
That’s okay, I can live with this - it’s a Bug’s Life anyway, I believe. And I think I’m rather blue and cute up there.
Am having a “morning off” - involves sitting on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate, laptop to the side, and knitting. Sigh.
Melissa, I think if you go sign up for a Gravatar, then you can get any picture you want. =)
Thanks Ashpags! Cool!
woazaaaaaaa i love it !
i has to check the adress bar twice to make sure i was at the right place !
thanks as well Ashpages ! Oh and Nin, thanks for the motivation you gave me to finally work on my own blog, i’ve been talking about it for ages !
Ooh thanks too, I’m off to get me a gravatar
No problem Em
If you need any help just let me know, I’ve got a couple of books that I can look in. I usually find a theme that I has the features and arrangement that I like, then I go in there and play around with the code to get it to look how I want.
And ooh Melissa, what a perfect morning! I’m going to have one of those next Thursday after I’ve got there. My knitting is already there, I sent it back with DrMr as it was high on the priority list
*giggles* you called her ashpages *giggles*
You’re quite welcome Melissa and Emilie! Oh, and now I am craving hot chocolate…think I will go make some! =)
I think there’s something in the September air that spells ‘makeover’ - I’m in the process of developing a new look myself…
What I wanted to ask - and maybe you can Flickr Mail or TIB PM me the answer - was, who are you moving with? I’m looking for relocation specialists myself now…
I just went onto gravatar–thanks for the info ashpags!
You never know I might even get the inclination to post something on my blog now!
I like the new look!
Ashpags, you’ve set off a trend, tee hee! And yay for all the makeovers coming our way. It’s going to be fun getting to see them all
Oh, and Pigwiget, I’m moving with Pickfords. They gave me a competitive quote and are one of the oldest and most established companies so I have a lot of confidence with them. And they go ALL over the world.
Hi,
Well I don’t exactly like chang(except if it’s chosen by me) but I’ll give your new look a go..:-))
When are you going? I can’t imagine the range of emotions you must be feeling right now and I also can’t imagine how I’m going to survive without your quintessential Englishness in favour of Peachy Hollow USA but, like I’ve said I’ll give it a go.
good luck with your packing, your goodbyes (hate those too) and your exciting new life xx
Bon chance !!
x
Oh and also, is it intended that your wedding pics don’t display for mere blogpals like me or is it an error? You’re the nearest thing I’ve got to a free ‘Hello’ Mag you know (me being a student and all)x
Wow, it’s so fresh! I’m very impressed x
thanks nin i might very well take you up on your offer!
How exciting to watch a new look unfold. My fingers are crossed for you and my tummy is anticipating all that you’re going through. It’s tough when change can bring about so much unknown. Unless we remind ourselves to view the unknown as an adventure. But even still, leaving home/family is so very challenging. We’re rooting for all of you. :o)
Thanks everyone, and thanks Isle Dance! That’s what I’m telling myself, it’s an adventure. I’d lost sight of that before in all my misery. I’m feeling a lot better now
Oops, forgot to say- sorry about the wedding pics being down. I had to take them off flickr as my photog was having problems with people stealing his images and posting them as their own. A lot of friends have sent me their pictures though, so I’ll get some back up there at some point (i.e. when I have more time!)
