My eating pattern was a bit topsy-turvy today. At lunchtime I was *completely STARVING* so decided to eat my main meal of the day right then (microwaved vegetable pasta leftovers) and it was so sustaining that by the time the evening came I was still feeling fairly full. I really couldn’t decide what to have but the howling wind and dark night outside put me in the mood for comfort food so I made my favourite: porridge. And in true comfort food style I ate it right out of the big jug I made it in…exactly how I also like my Cheerios (except this jug was even bigger, hehehe).
Porridge is one of my favourite things about the cooler months (along with apple pie…yumm).

Psst…if you smother apple pie in vanilla ice cream, it’s totally a summer food, too.
I like your stripey socks!
Porridge yum. I like it with almond essence, some organic honey and green raisins myself. Long live Porridge
Yeah, I’m wondering where the raisins are, too?
Raisins in porridge?? I’m sure it’ll come as a shock that I’ve never tried it. I’m not really a fan of cooked raisins though, unless they’re in a fruitcake, mince pie or a garibaldi biscuit. Maybe I will be brave one day…. I usually have my honey either with a sprinkle of brown sugar or a drizzle of honey. I feel like I’ve been missing out, lol!
Milk on the other hand…I play with that. Nothing is more yumm than warm milk with a bit of proper vanilla essence, it’s heavenly!
And again, I’ve never really had apple pie in the summer… to me it’s always been an autumn/winter food as late summer is when I see all the apples on the trees
Gosh, I’m in the mood for some now….!!
