 WINNER!

Tonight was a night of GRAND FINALS in terms of TV talent shows. First it was the big showdown on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ (won by a young version of Justin Timberlake; in the photo above) and then we found out who had won the role of Oliver’s Nancy on ‘I’d Do Anything’. My favourite sort of television.

Brooke is quite a shy girl. It took me a little while to get her to look at the camera :D

After about a week of practically non-stop rain, the sun FINALLY came out this morning and everything seemed right again. I’ve never been one for summer downpours, although I do find rain in the winter rather comforting. Needless to say all the wet weather has done the garden a world of good and the whole place is now literally bursting with bloom and prettiness.

But as lovely as the whole thing looked, the real reason I went outside was because something strange was going on with the purple bush. I’d just been busy making tea in the kitchen when out of the corner of my eye it looked like it was moving. *Weird*. So obviously I had to check, but as I got closer I could hear the bush too. And then it became clear what was going on: it was humming.

Turns out it was full of bees, and I mean FULL. All busybeeing away….

PS Have you ever tried taking pictures of bees? It’s not easy. I didn’t actually get any good ones, but Ginny’s kindly allowed me to post some of hers instead ;) :D

PPS Those tiny spiders are now no longer there, I hope they weren’t eaten.

Pardon my appearance

To quote Dolly Parton:
There ain’t no such thing as natural beauty;)
I try to remember this when I look in the mirror and wail at the state of my skin.
