Hello there! I made the pattern up actually. Depending on the wool, it's usually about 17 stitches across, and about 20 rows, casting off two stitches at each end of the last two rows to make the shoulder. The sleeves are usually about 15 stitches across. I worked it out by trying different things. This pattern usually works for Double Knit, but if you use 4 ply, use about 19-21 stitches. As for getting length, I always check by holding it up against Paige and seeing what looks right.

I hope that helps!

Hello!
I love your knit job! Please, could you give me the pattern? I promise it's for my girls only, I don't sell items I knit. In fact, I learnt knitting last year and I do jumpers just like yours but I often do them too shorts or too long because I don't have a pattern.
You can see what I did (and my dollies) on my blog (in french).
Thank you very much if you can answer me! If not, doesn't matter, I still love what you do :)

it wasn't hard to knit at all, but I have my job cut out for me now having to darn in all those loose ends. i might try swiss darning the pattern next time instead of knitting it.

I bet that scarf is going to be lovely to wear :)

Fair Isle on that small of a scale - wow! And yeah, Cashmerino is the best. I'm making a scarf for my mom out of the aran weight, and it's deliciously soft! Paige is so lucky to have you! =)

And Fliss, I completely hear you on the everything at once- I was offered an ocean drilling cruise (big ambition) during a crucial point, yet had to turn it down. Great news about Exeter though- but does that mean you'll have to move down there?? :(

That photo really doesn't do the jumper any justice whatsoever at all, as in real life the colours are much softer. It's hard to take representative pictures right now as it's getting dark so early that we practically have the lights on all the time. The technique is FAIRISLE and I sewed the beads on by hand. I've started another jumper where I've been knitting the beads in, but it's harder with multiple colours like that. Fairisle knitting isn't that difficult at all. You should try it!

The hand is a lot better today, thanks. I still get an occasional twang (usually when I'm picking up something heavy like a giant mug of tea) but I'm able to type properly now. And I can knit again....which is what I'm in the middle of doing right now trying to play catchup as I'm aiming to get it finished by the time MrNin comes out.

Oh, as for the yarn...it's Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino. It's by far the nicest wool I've ever knitted with and I'm completely addicted to it. Every week I buy another colour or two so I can get the whole collection and start doing nice patterns and things. It's soooo soooo nice to knit with!

I'll have to make another jumper now though....Paige is getting a sister!

Ugh - hand injuries suck big time, as I found out when I fell off those stupid wedge shoes (and I have 13lb on you to add to the pain, lol!). I hope that seeing single digits on your OurFatherLordSaintProfNins ticker has cheered you up somewhat :) I love jumper you're making Paige too - something tells me that you did not buy el cheapo yarn for the little Miss.

Your trip to the Aurora sounds fab! Shame about the conference. I have had a similar thing recently - I've been asked write a jounal article, and elsewhere have been asked to go to a conference in France in March. Both great opps, but both around submission time, so I really need to keep diary well clear. I feel so lame at having to pass these things up, though, especially in these early stages.

Owie!! Feel better soon and have a blast up North. (I'm just now learning to knit and have no idea how multiple yarns/colors work together like that yet, but I'm sure I'll learn soon. Purrtee!)
