After a hard day at his 'office'

…days since DrMrNin flew home to America, but he flies over to see me three weeks tomorrow, yippeeeee!

…functioning brain cells that I currently possess. I was *convinced* today that I had a riding lesson, so took all my bits with me to work and spent the whole day feeling excited about it. As soon as I finished, I ran full pelt to the bus stop making it onto the bus just in time, and then anxiously watched the clock all through the journey away from town, trudged up the hill to the stable, got changed and went to check in for my lesson…. only to find that it was actually booked for next week instead. Balls.

This is clearly a sign that I need more sleep….one hundred hours, maybe?

But anyway, this is what a british grocery store looks like:

I tried to drop off some dry cleaning and buy wrapping paper but they're closed for a refit

For those of you who haven’t heard of Trinny and Susannah, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? OK, maybe people outside of Britain can be excused…. If you’re wondering, they’re the original style gurus behind newspaper columns, then the show “What Not To Wear” and all its spin-offs including a huge range of books which made them single-handedly responsible for improving the nation’s dress-sense over the past five years or so. They even sold their show overseas and different countries have their own versions of it that are equally successful. Yes you’ve got it, they are very famous, highly influential people, and I love them!

Right now they’re working on their new show “Undress the Nation” where they are travelling around the four corners of the country trying to fix the most commonly occurring style mistakes. Each week they visit a different town to take on a new style challenge and this week they came to the town by me! I saw their big pink pod (where people go inside for a consultation) on my way to work, and much to my joy it was still there when I finished work!

(Bear with me with the camera phone pics)

Trinny and Susannah's pink pod

Unfortunately they weren’t actually in there, but I got talking to a production assistant who informed me that they were over in the department store doing a makeover. I’m one of their BIGGEST FANS so wasn’t about to let this one pass, so off I trotted to discover them on the first floor, forcing some poor victim into about a thousand outfits in one of the changing rooms.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I saw them, but what struck me was how TINY they both were, and how absolutely beautiful they were too- both were immaculately dressed, and their grooming was so elegant. Sure, Trinny was botoxed to hell and the whole of her upper face didn’t move, but she really was exquisite. I hung around there for a little while and managed to catch them doing their final bit to camera (again, very poor pic)…

Trinny and Susannah

They did the whole thing in just one take, making no mistakes whatsoever- highly impressive! From the looks of it they were very nice people too which is always special when you read about how awful some celebrities are. Of course there was that slight aura of untouchable about them at the same time, but I mustered up the courage to say hello to Susannah and tell her that I was really enjoying the show so far. At this point she turned around, looked me straight in the eyes with a big beaming smile and thanked me so kindly for telling her as if it had made her entire afternoon, even though she’d probably heard the same thing a hundred times over that day already. What a lovely person! I’m so glad I got to meet them and found out that they were genuinely nice people. And Trinny and Susannah, just in case you’re reading this, thankyou, you made my afternoon too! :D
