Hi! I'm just a recent vistor at Peachhollow and i love it! What drew me in your website was these photographs you took of what was Netherfield Park for the movie Pride & Prejudice (fyi: I'm a huge Jane Austen fan!) How were you able to go and visit? That's so awesome! Your website is great! I love it! Oh and by the way, how did you get Paige? She's such a cute doll!

Oh Elisabeth, you are too sweet for words! I'll go over and have a look at your blog in a minute, thankyou so much!!

It seems that the Colin Firth version is BY FAR the most popular, so I think I might have to get out and order that one instead of watching the film, lol!

Hey--I wish that we had such beautiful places to visit around here. I mean we have a lot of pretty places, but the oldest things that we have in my area are only about 150 years old. (Of course, my house is getting to be close to one of the oldest things in the area, so I could say that I live in history everyday technically, but then in order to have a livable house we have had to do a lot to it, so it doesn't look like it did back then (sorry, that was a really bad run one sentence--I do know haw to use English correctly, but tend not to do it)) Anyway, such a beautiful place to see even, or especially, on a rainy day!
You had mentioned a while back about wanting to make some Christmas ornaments and it peaked my interest because I make mini knitted stockings and sweaters for ornaments and my wonderful husband makes leather ornaments. I'll post a picture of them on my blog. If you would like a couple of them from Minnesota I would be happy to send them as a belated wedding present!
Have a happy day.

Ugh, all the weather is doing right now is draining me of energy. Maybe I need to just psyche myself up a bit more...it just kind of feels a bit in between right now, a bit too warm outside to cosy up inside properly. I like more hot chocolate weather.

Oooh, can't wait to see the photos Junebug!

Beautiful pictures. I will post some pictures soon of a mansion near me called Marland Mansion. They of course tried their best to look European and imported Italian marble and artists to do the work. I love anything Colin Firth is in.

I love the picture you call "bleak". Though I do require a fair amount of sunshine and too much cloudy, rainy weather makes me tired and cranky, I was surprised how invigorating that drizzly weather can be once you talk yourself into getting out in it. I love the look of the fog on the hillside, too. It adds a certain mystery to the landscape and it makes that cup of tea (or coffee) all the more welcome once you're back inside.

Melissa, we actually had apple pie Friday, Saturday AND Sunday last week....shhhh!!! hee hee!

Now the 1995 version is one I haven't seen either, isn't that bad? I wonder why that was....oh, it was the year I went to university, and I didn't have a television. It is floating around on DVD though- now that I've got nothing to watch until the seventh season of Gilmore Girls comes out in November. I get the feeling it will be a nice series to watch when I'm back in the US too...Yes, I'm going to miss England when I'm not here, but I'm hoping to try and make it back here at least a couple of times a year if I can.

And thanks all for your kind words about the pictures- I'm still finding out what all the settings do on the camera, but it's good fun learning :)

Oh! I meant the 1995 version. That's the Pemberly of which I speak.

The one with Colin Firth as Mr Darcy.

That's my fave!

Gosh lovely photos! I have only seen that version once - I am too hooked on the 1995 version, I'm afraid. So I didn't recognise the buildings, uncouth wench that I am. I think Paige looks lovely.

that clock entrance picture is my favorite. great angle and lighting!
I'm jealous of all the rugged beauty surrounding you in that country! :)
I'm sure you will miss it when you move to the states. (but you'll have a lovelier view when you get to see your hubbie.) ;)

Oh! Who wonderful!

Last summer my daughter, Emma, visited a family in Manchester. One half hour away was Lyme's Park. The site of the 2005 P & P Pemberly.

While it was happily situated :)
It was covered with a big green tarp.

Repairs.

Every time I see your pictures I want to come to England more and more!

Thank you for sharing your home with us!
