I was in Nordstrom last week, and these boots were literally flying off the shelves. They are the MICHAEL Michael Kors Harness Slouch Boot. In there area where I was sitting (trying on shoes, obviously), at least 4 other people were trying them on, and they and ther friends were all gushing over them completely. So naturally I felt compelled to try them on myself too. Admittedly the pair I tried were at least two sizes too big (yes, there was that much of a rush on them that they’d sold out of 9s and 9.5s already, normally a less popular size), but I wasn’t so sure about them on me.
Maybe I just have different tastes to the rest of the general populus, but I couldn’t help but feel that there was something about them that just wasn’t quite right. I think it was that they were a bit *too much* in the try-hard sense. OK, so I was trying them on wearing a pair of ripped jeans, probably not the most flattering pairing for these boots, but for $268.95 (+tax), I just think I would want a little bit more wearability. More importantly, for that amount of money, I would want a boot that would last more than one season… the “fashionability” of these would probably mean that they’d be rendered to the back of one’s closet by next winter.
Needless to say, they’ll probably be all the rage this winter, and be seen regularly on the feet of celebs in all the magazines. It’s also highly probably that I’ll end up falling for them and end up willing to give anything just to own a pair, and finding that they’re all sold out, lol!
