(i.e. not boyish) I think I've found a new favourite shop:
I was in there today, and I couldn't help but squeal with excitement. Here's the story: I live an apartment with two boys, two very nice boys I might add (one of whom is my lovely bf), but at the end of the day, they're boys. And predictably, they like boyish things. We have, amongst other things, a 60" widescreen HD-TV, 5 computers, wireless internet with networked printer and airtunes, Tivo and DVR, seven remote controls and enough optical and audio cable stashed under the rug to go to the moon and back. And that's all within one six foot square corner of the apartment. I didn't even mention the stereo system with six speakers (which incidentally is under threat of being upgraded…hooray, more speaker wire). But anyway, boys being boys, and also boys being relatively fresh out of graduate school, our apartment is currently a mesh of (two sets of) rather masculine decor. There's no other way to say it, so I should just admit it now: I live in a bach. pad. A bach pad complete with boys toys and black furniture. I'm going to start with the kitchen.
A woman's place is the kitchen you see. Now I don't advocate that principle myself normally, but where bachelor pads are concerned – unless said bachelors are rampant metrosexuals – the kitchen is the room that welcomes the least male attention (which may possibly be remedied should the water supply be cut off, thus allowing the hazard-free installation of yet more electronic toys). So in this respect, the kitchen is more or less mine. Mine all mine, so I can completely pink it up and more or less do with it as I please. I mean it's not like it's going to get noticed… So here's my next goal: to get these lovely works of prettiness in by the end of spring. A pinny, some oven gloves and a tea towel. That's not too much.
I really like the pink cutlery set too, although maybe that might be pushing it a bit. The multicolour set might be something I could get away with though…
You see I already have these from Williams Sonoma, so it would all match….
And I got those because ULTIMATELY, I want to get one of THESE BABIES!
Pink it up, oh yah.
